SDA Seattle: What You Need to Know About the New Sick Leave Laws

This presentation will take a deep dive into the new Washington state paid sick leave law, and address topics including whether exempt employees are covered by the law, if frontloading paid sick leave is acceptable, and employers’ obligation to provide employees notice regarding their leave accrual and usage. The presentation will also address the differences between the Seattle Sick and Safe Time Ordinance and the new state law.
Presenter: Colleen Mayer, Associate in the Seattle office of Lane Powell.
